Mental Illness Roundabout

Mental Illnes Roundabout

Crazy, mad, weird or lunatics. People living with mental illness often describe the associated stigma as being more debilitating than the illness itself. Stigma involves the labelling and stereotyping of persons living with mental illness as being ‘different’ or having ‘undesirable’ characteristics. Those who experience stigma face discrimination as well as a loss of status and power to change their situation. Mental illness is poorly understood. Affected people often students and workers are caught in a vicious cycle and marginalized by our society. We believe that we suppose to pay higher attention to people that are embarrassed with mental illness like depressions.
